SBS® Bakeware Coating
For years commercial
bakeries have had to rely on pan coatings that do not
provide the release or longevity needed for optimal
productivity. SBS Coating Technologies were
specifically developed to address the stringent requirements
of commercial bakeries. These coatings are, by far, the
longest lasting available today, and they provide
the best release for baked products. As one of only three
firms in the country licensed to apply SBS coatings,
Crest Coating is uniquely positioned to provide this
superior product to bakeries in the Western U.S. (for
locations east of Texas see www.bakewarecoating.com)
LONGER LIFE THAN SILICONE GLAZE
The non-stick
finish on pans coated with SBS lasts 10-15 times longer
than the finish on silicone-glazed pans. Some bakeries
report achieving 3500 to 5000 cycles on bun pans. Obviously,
the care and handling of pans influences their lifespan.
Filling every cup with dough and proper
cleaning between cycles are two simple ways to
assure maximum pan life.
SBS
COATING PAYS FOR ITSELF IN LESS THAN A YEAR
Some bakeries are able to run SBS coated pans for as
long as three years before recoating. In addition to
cost savings from eliminating silicone glazing (see
table below), the use of SBS Coatings will result in:
•
Higher productivity
• Increased product
flow
• Lower reject
rates
• Lower labor
costs
• Better equipment
utilization
• Lower energy
costs
NO
SPECIAL HANDLING REQUIREMENTS
Pans coated with SBS are virtually maintenance free. Because
of their superior non-stick properties, pan cleaning
can be done at
room temperature using pressurized air or a soft brush.
ELIMINATE OIL AND GREASE
The exceptional release property of SBS coatings allows baked
products to be removed without the addition of oil or
grease. This keeps the bakery environment and ovens cleaner,
and eliminates the risk of premature loss of pans due
to oil carbonization.
FDA
AND BGA COMPLIANT
All bakeware coatings sold by Crest comply with FDA regulations
governing components of coatings for direct food contact.
They are likewise in compliance with European BGA specifications
for food contact.
